Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of existing and prospective client relationships covering both the commercial and residential investment sub segments. To identify, capture, and as appropriate, develop new business opportunities and assist in achieving the income targets of the bank, within agreed risk parameters.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
· Exercise the day-to-day management of current relationships. Act as first line of defence and as primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to the client’s relationship with the bank.
· Preserve and maintain the credit quality of your client portfolio including the monitoring and control of loan facilities and covenants.
· Adhere to Real Estate policy and procedures and risk appetite.
· Demonstrate high quality service levels through a regular calling programme and first-class customer service to ensure strong relationships are maintained and that any issues or queries are resolved quickly and efficiently.
· Foster and develop long term relationships with customers/partners/other stakeholders.
· Demonstrate excellent credit skills and proficiency in writing robust credit applications. Present to senior stakeholders at credit committees.
· Transaction management from origination to closing, including the management of all aspects of REF due diligence.
· Analysis of property operating performance including net income position and the implications on cash flow, value, and exit position, appraisal of asset management and sponsor business plans, evaluation of property-specific risk.
· Accountable for abiding to risk control self-assessments, governance, compliance, operational and credit risk procedures.
· Manage your portfolio to maximise growth and income targets.
· Grow the bank’s Real Estate business by identifying and establishing profitable relationships with new creditworthy clients through indirect positioning and marketing, research, and client visits. Provide bespoke product and service solutions to match client requirements from within BACB’s Real Estate current and future service range.
Required Qualifications and Experience
· A minimum of five years’ relationship management experience within a UK regulated financial institution covering Real Estate and SME banking.
· Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate, build relationships, and develop new customers.
· Advanced analytical skills.
· Experience in the negotiation and execution of LMA style loan documentation preferred.
· Experience in marketing of products and services including those comprising BACB’s existing and future product range.
· A network of professional contacts to source new business opportunities.
