Job Summary
To implement and contribute to the business strategy of BACB with the aim to increase the bank’s market share.
To contribute to business origination in the Africa and the Middle East regions by securing profitable business in-flows, within agreed risk parameters.
To build sustainable and profitable long-term relationships (Financial Institutions), maximise client profitability across all product groupings.
The Director will be reporting to the Head of Fis.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
- The Director should use her/his regional expertise and deep product knowledge to optimise the client coverage in his region of responsibilities.
- Acquire, identify and develop new relationships with creditworthy clients to build trusted and profitable relationships.
- The Director is responsible for developing and executing relationship plans for existing clients; this includes effectively collaborating with clients, client support, distribution, beneficiaries team and product teams as well.
- Tasks include execution of on-boarding process in relation to credit and KYC.
- Work closely with all BACB business stakeholders including Distribution.
- Work closely with the Corporates Origination Team in the context of the Two-Client-Approach.
- Mobilise product areas to ensure the optimum return from existing and new relationships in order to meet the Bank and department’s strategic and annual targets.
- Exercise day-to-day management of current relationships; act as first line of defence and as primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to the client’s relationship with the bank.
- Preserve and maintain the credit quality of the client portfolio including the monitoring of facility utilisation and press and internet coverage of counterparties.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 7-10 years of experience in Trade Finance and FI relationship management.
- A strong originator.
- Strong track record in the region covered by BACB with solid English and French language skills. Arabic would be a bonus.
- Detailed knowledge of and experience in the marketing of cross border banking products and services, importantly those comprising BACB’s existing and future product range.
- Excellent interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills with a wide range of global contacts.
