Job Summary
Supports the department’s day-to-day operations ensuring the efficient and effective processing of all related work items and providing a high-quality Customer Service to the Bank’s customers, internal departments and the Bank’s electronic and account management services.
Undertakes a processing function in respect of the department’s workflows, including general banking duties, Payment processing and related payment Investigations.
The Apprentice will spend at least 20% of their working time allocated to formal learning. This will be a mixture of classroom learning, webinars, self-study and on the job training.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
- Ensuring that queried items are processed accurately and within the agreed service level agreements alongside the necessary and timely update of relevant databases.
- Involved with the day-to-day operation of the bank’s communications mechanisms such as SWIFT and email, whilst validating and providing authentication on instructions as required.
- Responsible for the opening and closing of customer accounts, including any applicable ongoing client account maintenance.
- Distribution of statements to customers and other departments.
- Reconciling Nostro reports in accordance with procedures.
- Providing a customer support service ensuring that all Payment Investigation queries are fully resolved within the agreed timescales, whilst always protecting the Bank’s position.
- Ensuring Audit confirmation requests are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all processes and procedures are always adhered to.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements methods for improving section effectiveness.
- Control and support of the TCIB internet banking system for the banks client accounts.
- Where relevant, notifying appropriate BACB departments, beneficiaries, and other Banks of payment details/information, ensuring value date and exchange rate requirements are actioned.
- Ensuring all Payments are processed within the Bank’s sanctions regime.
- Ensures all Payments are input and actioned correctly and efficiently by agreed cut off times and all funds are correctly applied.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Have 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A*-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- Analytical abilities & skills, experience / understanding
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
- Good communication skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
